Matthew 28:18-20
18 Jesus told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations,[b] baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (NLT).
Yeshua's final command to His disciples.
He sends with His authority vested in his disciples applicable in heaven and earth.
It is a 'go' command, not a come option or suggestion.
The word 'all' dominates these verses: All authority, all nations, all the commands, and always.
The shift is from Jews to all nations, from circumcision to baptism, and from converts to disciples.
Discipling is the process of becoming disciple-making disciples.
To become faithful and true witnesses of the Kingdom in Jerusalem and Judea to the ends of the earth. ( Acts 1:8).
The gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations and then the end will come. ( Matt 24:14).
Baptism into one name, to owe allegiance to The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The Disciples became the teachers of Yeshua's teachings.
Power-packed demonstrations of the presence of YHWH: through signs and wonders.
The result of Discipling: Revelations 7:9 After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”
All believers are called to become disciples who make disciples. The Bride of the Messiah must multiply to increase the Kingdom of YHWH. The gospel is the 'best news ever.' Everyone deserves a fair chance at hearing it. It is the responsibility of every believer to share and spread the best news ever of salvation in Yeshua Messiah.
